Re: Deck 2: Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel

Christopher smiled back at Clare and was about to make friendly conversation, when Miles stepped in. His request made the young man stand up a little straighter. "Of course sir, we would be honored to accommodate you. I have the Parliamentary Suite, which gives you a spacious two bedrooms and a common room. It is also one of our finest views on the station. The monthly rate comes to a total of 6000 credits. We have fine room service meals and a concierge service that can bring you anything on the station. I would just need your ident card and form of payment."

Re: Deck 2: Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel

"Parliamentary, ooooh, sounds so....governmental," Clare grinned.

Miles ignored her, teenagers.... as he produced the necessary ID then entered the proper coding into the cortex to allow an electronic funds transfer from their bank account into the hotel's.

"Yes, that will do nicely. We'll take it, of course," he nodded.

"Now what sort of security does it have? That is very important to us...we are very private people you understand," he addressed the man with his usual no nonsense look.

"And more importantly, does this place have a pool?" Clare now had a question of her own.

Re: Deck 2: Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel

Christopher responded back full of the greatest reassurances. "Mr. Trent, as the name implies, the suite has only the highest security. The walls are sound proof and the suite can be used as an emergency shelter in case of station decompression. Our last guest staying in there was the musician Lizzy Lusko. Our guests have very exacting standards in terms of privacy.

Now for a pool Miss, the Tenzing Momo spa has excellent mineral baths, or there is a station wide swim club on deck three that you could partake of. Its a pretty cool hang out for young people on the station." Christopher related with a smile, while coding the entry knobs for the suite.

The swim club actually used the station reclamation tanks, when the water had been adequately treated and purified. It was a fine establishment if you didn't think too long about it. Of course anyone accustom to space travel was used to reclaimed and recycled water.

Re: Deck 2: Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel

Miles acted unimpressed as the clerk went thru his spiel about the suite though he figured the safety of it as a place to live would be one hell of a lot better than the freighter they'd just traveled in.

"Never heard of her," he grunted at mention of the Lizzy Lusko."

"Oh! I have!" Clare beamed, she loved music.

Then the man gave her a quick summary of the possibilities for some aquatic activities.

"Deck three, got it!" she would indeed love to spend some time with boys...errr, people her age.

"We'll see," Miles didn't sound very thrilled, he was obsessed with keeping her alive and that didn't always allow for her to have fun.

"Obviously we can get in, what about room service, what safety features allow us to control their entry? If say....I suspect it isn't room service," Miles wanted to know from the clerk.

Re: Deck 2: Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel

Christopher smile at Clare and then turned back to reassure Miles. "Mr. Trent, the security camera system in the door and cooridor can be controlled by the cortex and entertainment interface in your suite. If wish you can always have deliveries made into the entry vestibule that can be closed off from the rest of the suite. Or you may call the front desk to confirm one of our employees making a delivery to you. The Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel offers only the newest technology straight form the Core. Your comfort and security are our first concern. If you like I can have the bell captain explain the system to you when you go up to your suite."

Re: Deck 2: Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel

Miles listened, the clerk's explanation mollified his concerns.

"Alright, that sounds good. No, I won't need to hear it again, you satisfied me, thanks," he replied.

"So that it then? Can we go to our room?" Clare asked Miles as much as the clerk, with all the typical patience of a teenager.

"Yes, if you don't mind, can you get a bellboy to show us to our suite, please?" Miles requested of the clerk.

Re: Deck 2: Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel

"That is all, if you have need of anything you may always call the concierge, or here at the front desk. I hope yours is a delightful stay here at the Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel." He handed Miles a pair of programmed knobs for the suite, and tapped the call switch for the bellman. Rapidly a boy slightly younger than Clare arrived wearing a hotel uniform, that looked a bit too tight and ridiculous for a respectable core hotel, but apparently went as fancy this far out on the rim. "This is Xander, he will show you to the Parliamentary Suite." Christopher added at the boys arrival. "Parliamentary Suite. Right this way folks." Xander stated while quickly sizing the two of them up regarding how large of a tip he might make. He loaded their luggage on a nearby trolley and led them to the lift, occasionally smiling at Clare."

Re: Deck 2: Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel

Miles received the suite knobs, handing one over to Clare then a bellboy was summoned. They were off to their room led by this young man in a rather ridiculous outfit, least to Clare's mind. Miles noted the lad smiling at Clare but ignored it.

When they reached the lift, Clare decided to say something to this...what was his name again? Oh!

"So, Xander right?" she addressed him, "You like working here? Especially given they make you wear that outfit."

She grinned.

Re: Deck 2: Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel

Xander smiled back at her. "Oh its alright. Compared to other jobs on the station, it pays pretty well. And you get to meet some pretty cool people. Two weeks ago, Lizzy Lusko was on board for quite a while. She split after the pirates hit us. Short of working at the Wave shop, this is about the best someone my age can ask for. What are you here for?" he asked innocently.
-Xander

Re: Deck 2: Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel

"Oh yeah, I know who she is," Clare nodded, second time Lusko had been namedropped.

"Wave shop? Why is that such a good job?" now that she didn't get.

The young man wanted to know why they were at the hotel. As soon as he asked, Miles was tempted to snap 'none of your damn business' but decided it was an innocent question and Clare could handle it.

"Oh, we are on a nice long vacation. We had the most awful and long trip in this cramped dirty freighter to get us here. So now we just want to relax and enjoy ourselves, heard this place was the best," the girl smiled.

Re: Deck 2: Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel

"That it is. We've go the most advanced systems and communication anywhere outside the Core. The wave shop has the largest collection of holographic wave concerts on this side of the verse. And it has an unparalleled display system. It's puts you right there in the recording. I mean right there. Beats the hell out of the Cortex or even a dedicated Source box." The young man related with great enthusiasm as he pulled the trolley along behind them. "Parliamentary Suite, just ahead on your right."
-Xander

Re: Deck 2: Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel

Clare listened with fascination, "That sounds excellent. I will have to stop by there real soon. I have so many performers and concerts I would to experience."

"Some might say too many," commented Miles in that dry tone of his when being sarcastic with the girl.

"Only a very few would say that....dearest father," she elbowed him in a teasing gesture.

Then they were there, their suite. Miles used the knob to open the door but though one might think he would be the gentleman and allow her first entry, he instead stepped in, eyes taking in the place. She just stood there as if expecting his action anyhow, gave a quick smile to the young bellhop then also entered.

"You can bring it in, please," she requested of him and their luggage.

Re: Deck 2: Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel

Xander rolled the trolley with their luggage into their suite. Considering the price they were paying, the suite was what you would expect with big money. The central sitting room had comfortable couches and chairs, and a panoramic view of the black, and depending on the phase of rotation, the arboreal majesty of Greenleaf. The walls were of the finest hardwoods, with bronze and chrome accents. The place exuded importance and power.

Xander off loaded the bags , and turned the trolley back towards the door. "If you need any thing Mr. Trent, or you Miss, please don't hesitate to ring up the front desk. "He drifted for a moment to give Miles the opportunity to tip him if he so desired.
-Xander

Re: Deck 2: Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel

As both man and young lady scanned the interior of the suite, both were impressed each in their own way. Clare beamed  while Miles kept his typical poker face expression. Yes, it would certainly do. It was a lot of money but, in truth, they had money to blow.

The bellboy went thru his usual routine of asking if they needed anything else then standing there waiting for a tip. Miles didn't blame the young guy, he had to make a living too and he'd certainly done a good enough job.

"We're good here, you can go. And here," reaching into his coat pocket Miles extended out a generous tip. Besides it was never a smart move to irritate the locals, if this young man liked them he'd be less likely to do something...anything which might go against them. Miles was always thinking about the possibilities.

Re: Deck 2: Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel

Xander felt the weight of the money Miles put in his hand, that after lots of practice let him know it was a good tip. He tipped the ridiculous cap that came with his uniform. "Xie xie. I hope you enjoy your stay with us." He gave a quick smile to Clare, that clearly conveyed in teenager his desire to see her around, preferably after work. He pulled the trolley out in the hall and closed the door to the suite behind him. Then counted the money in his hand.

Re: Deck 2: Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel

"We will," Miles walked next to the bellhop right to the door then shut it as the young man left, setting it on lock.

"It'll be good to relax now for awhile," he turned then toward the girl.

"Oh agreed. But relax means different things to different people. To you it probably means a nice long snooze, to me it means go have fun someplace," Clare replied wandering about the suite checking every little thing out.

"Well, it's not a jail cell. But I still will need to keep tabs on you whenever and wherever you go, child," Miles pointed out as he began moving the luggage.

"Of course, I know the routine, don't worry," Clare nodded though already she was planning on sneaking off to that pool and then the spa also.

Re: Deck 2: Tenzing Momo Spa and Hotel

Looking around the suite, Clare could make out a cortex pad by the desk and another on the coffee table by the sofas. Several helpful guides tot he station were available in printed form lying around the room as well.
