Alex got up and opened the door, wordlessly gesturing her in as he spoke to Kostandin.

She seated herself across the desk from him, and waited, only the merest sign of a raised eyebrow to show her impatience.

OOC: I was thinking I was waiting on GM to play Kostandin here, but I can write something?

ooc: Sorry thought I was just starting that bit for you there. Not sure where you are going with it all...

Re: Phantasm, Office - Deck 5

OOC: Lol. :-) I guess Alex is reporting to Kostandin for two connected reasons: firstly, Kostandin will want to know about opening night because of the Ysveks' business interest in Phantasm and Alex and Kris, and secondly because of the risk of further attack. I'm assuming Alex will have been communicating with the Ysveks since the explosion, pooling their resources to secure their assets and to try to identify who the attackers were. Could you use Kostandin as a means of feeding me leads and red herrings as Alex and the Ysveks seek to catch the attackers?

Kostandin rubbed the sleep from his eyes and looked at the screen where he was seeing Alex. "Back in business I presume? We are of course rather anxious to see our money was spent in vain. Your club has been good for business. But what reassurances do you bring me?"

Before Alex could reply, Kris heard the front door sensor beep quietly above the door of the office.

She mouthed her excuses across the desk and left the room.

OOC: Sorry I've been slow on this thread. I'm happy for us to summarise OOC?

Re: Phantasm, Office - Deck 5

OOC: So, I'm thinking Kostandin would offer his continued support to Alex and Kris, would express his concerns regarding their safety, and would reiterate his own commitments elsewhere. It probably wouldn't be totally left-field for him to say he was sending some 'security', particularly if you fancy GMing some burly Russian-accented mafia types? =-)

Leaving Colonel Maczarek at the bar, Kris knocked on the office door, and listened for Alex to invite her in.

Hearing the front door crash open and shut, Kris hurried back quickly to the bar area. They weren't open yet.

---TIMELINE / CUT ---

http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s281/deborahleighton/Alexander-Skarsgard.jpg

Returning from seeing off the idiots who had barged into the main bar area just now, Alex sat himself down in his refurbished office, and looked around.

The last time he had sat in this chair, a hopeful young man had been making a pitch to him about ferrying punters to Phantasm from the docking ring on Deck 4 and Bazaar and Hub on Decks 2 and 3 and Residential levels, when suddenly the lights went out and a deafening roar mixed with the sound of tortured steel and glass filled his senses and Alex was pulled about by the catastrophic de-pressurisation that so instantly destroyed everything he had worked to build.

His Cortex was still full of waves from the insurance company and solicitors and Ysveks and others, but he'd made good progress through it, and now with Kris' help they were about ready for their re-opening. He knew he couldn't have done it without her, all his instincts said, 'go to ground, off the grid, find who did this and attack from the shadows to destroy them'. But she had been so determined, and he'd let himself be persuaded, and here they were, refurbished and on the cusp of reopening.

Security would be tighter, they'd made sure of that, but something about being nearly pulled out into space to die horribly cold and powerless unsettled him greatly and gave him lasting misgivings about what tonight might bring.

After a while, Alex checked the time and shut down his cortex with a sigh. He'd done what he'd come in to do. Everything was ready. There was no avoiding it. They had to open up. Heavily, he stood, and walked to the door. He stooped through into the bar, and looked for Kris.

OOC: Continuing here.
