Re: The cryochamber - inactive sims just waiting to be revived

I could probably run that a bit better now that I've actually read The Time Traveller's Guide to Medieval England, but alas, my liege, time means I can't put any more on my trencher.

Saw a few sims get put in cryo recently and wondered about resuming one or two of them.

I'm interested in:

1. A Kingdom for a Stage or something like it, set in the Middle Ages. Anyone else interested in a medieval sim?

2. Miranda, which I felt was a really cool Firefly sim concept, but I was too busy at the time to join it. The brief reads a lot like a frontier Western, with everything that's good about Firefly (technology, culture, conspiracy, Reavers...) thrown in, so a lot to run with, really. :-)

3. Possibly a Mass Effect sim. I know we've had two Mass Effect sims before, which suggests its popularity, and where I'm getting well psyched for Star Wars lately I'm feeling the space opera vibe, you know?

4. Another Star Wars sim. At the moment we have a small but growing Rise of the Empire sim set soon after Episode 3, and we have a popular Old Republic sim set contemporary to KotOR, but there are many other time periods and locations in the SW universe we could explore. Or am I jumping the blaster here, and we should wait just a few more weeks til Episode 7 comes out and maybe set something in the new era?

I'd be interested in getting the Miranda sim running once more. It seemed like a very interesting sim and I've already created a character for it. But it does seem to be a sim that needs a few players, given the setting.

I would be interested in bringing Miranda back as well, it looks awesome.

Same with a Star Wars sim, perhaps sent during the rebellion era or the non canon era where the players took on the roles of a crew who pilot an old freighter that is the hive of scum and villainy

A good bunch of months ago, Brandon and I started developing a Star Wars sim based on an Imperial Star Destroyer. Cruising the galaxy to restore order and peace in the face of militant rebel scum. Of course I'm one of those weirdos that likes the Empire.

Snappy black uniforms and withering tech capabilities.  What's not to love.

Lol.

Okay, so I'm seeing a lot of love for a Star Wars sim, and some interest in a Mass Effect Sim, a Medieval sim, and Firefly: Miranda!

Wrt Star Wars first, I wonder if rebooting the West Star might scratch some of those itches, as it's an Imperial frigate, smaller than a Star Destroyer, but still packing turbo lasers, tractor beams, etc...? Or perhaps a different premise, later in the timeline?

In honesty, I think if we did another SW sim, I would join that and probably wouldn't contribute to a Mass Effect sim, but don't let that stop other keenies from exploring setting a new ME sim up or rebooting one of the old ones.

I think I would quite like a medieval sim, but it seems to me there's a long conversation to be had there about century (5th? 11th? 15th? etc. Quite a range) and raison d'etre.

For Miranda, I'm reluctant to push reopening that until we've explored the viability of the other new Firefly sim currently being proposed. :-)

Shall we open up specific sim proposal threads for Star Wars, Mass Effect, and Medieval sims?

Right, I've opened a discussion thread for a medieval sim. Please post comments there if you're interested in playing a sim in the Middle Ages.

I'll belay considerations for a new Star Wars sim til after Episode VII premiers! Meanwhile can I encourage people to look in on Accipiter and especially Invisec and maybe join the Star Wars fun there?

And as per my above post, wrt Mass Effect, I warmly encourage others to give thought to running this, but in honesty I will be committed to our Star Wars sims for my space opera dose for the foreseeable.
