Resident Evil: Salvation

RE:Salv is a Survival Horror genre Sim set in the idyllic town of Eagle's Fall, IL. (This town is situated on the Illinois map, where the city of Rockford, IL would be). RE:Salvation is taking place concurrently with the events of Resident Evil Revelations.

The lid has been blown off the Umbrella Corporation, yet they are defiantly operating several secret facilities still located across the United States. The core of this game, will revolve around the few survivors of the Eagle's Fall Disaster, and their stories.

Players one way, or another have ended up in Eagle's Fall - whether that's as a normal citizen residing there, a basic Umbrella Employee, or as far embedded into the Company as a Lead Researcher.

Player Creation will be based off the standard Alignment Model, and your background / chosen profession will play a factor into the reactions of the survivors and other NPCs. While yes, you could be a massively high-priority Researcher, with a famous name, but because of that people may shut their doors to you and your comrades.

Pick your Profession(s) and your back story, and join the fun.

Now for more details:

The timeline of the game is taking place in 2005. Eagle's Fall has been decimated overnight. The events of the game start on November 11th, 2005. Items will be semi-scarce to find, yet not overly impossible. Unlike the games, there aren't going to be any major BAMF characters (see; Chris Redfield, Claire Redfield, Leon Kennedy, Jill Valentine, etc.)

Many things will be called into questions of morality, i.e. Do you trust the person with an obvious bite wound on his arm, when he says it was from a non-infected Dog? Do you see through his lies and discern that it was actually from a Cerberus bite (thus infecting him)?

Players will be able to use present day supplies to create their own First Aid Kits, in addition to finding pre-made Kits in certain facilities. Players will also need to eat / drink, and sleep for limited amounts of time.

When the darkness falls and the gates of Hell open - trust is everything you have left.

If there's any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. smile

Re: Resident Evil: Salvation

A couple of questions:

Firstly, how will this be run gamewise? Like will it be using stats and items and so on, or will it be a more narrative based (similar to the Zombies Sim)

Secondly, will it be run in terms of each individual character trying to survive, or will it be everyone working together, or some blend of the two?

Re: Resident Evil: Salvation

Running Narrative (like the games), with Character Stat Sheets, and the GM doing BTS Dice Throws for events.

The short answer is: yes. Long answer is: It is up for personal character discretion if they want their end game fate to be death. I plan on NPC death occuring, but player death is, as I said, at the discretion of the Player.

I would like it to start out with everyone starting separately, then coming together to form a cohesive Zombie Fighting group, to escape the horrors of Eagle's Fall.

Re: Resident Evil: Salvation

I would be down for this.

Re: Resident Evil: Salvation

What's up with this, is it going anywhere?

Re: Resident Evil: Salvation

I'm still up for running it, if we get the people for it. Granted it's been almost a year since I made the proposal. =/

I know he probably sounds rude. But he's probably just asking.

Unless you are being rude, then bad Carlos.

Re: Resident Evil: Salvation

Resident Evil before 4, 5, & 6 ruined the franchise. Revelations 1 was awesome. Loved it. Rev 2 was abysmal, even with Claire in it. sad

Re: Resident Evil: Salvation

I actually enjoyed 4 in fairness tongue
Granted, I've played all of them, and for the most part enjoyed them, or at least not hated them.

Re: Resident Evil: Salvation

Eh, I liked 4 and 6, honestly, but I attribute 4 with the start of the Fall. 5 cinched it, and 6 killed it off (for most people). I couldn't stand Chris's playthrough in 6, but enjoyed Leon and Sherry's.

Re: Resident Evil: Salvation

Chris' playthrough in Six made very little sense for me. I'm heavily into my canon, and it perplexed me trying to work out how everything tied into five... In the end, I guessed they'd chosen to disown five, because let's be honest, five was rubbish...

Re: Resident Evil: Salvation

I loved 5, once Chris found Jill, and killed Wesker. But dear god, I hated Sheva. Can't count how many, many, many times I got a Game Over, because she'd stand in the middle of an active firefight like she was disconnecting from her body.

After that, the game got better... ish.

His 6 playthrough made very little sense, much like 5 did.

Re: Resident Evil: Salvation

And yet, I've played Resident Evil 5 co-op about 3 times tongue
Once you get rid of the AI's drop-kick level programming, the game becomes tolerable.

Re: Resident Evil: Salvation

4 and Rev honestly my favorites after Zero, I mean. Despite all of Ashley's trying I still love that game long escort mission.

Also, 6 had a lot of potential in my opinion, and the AI was better. Also this reminded me of why I'd want to run something where the players are USS operatives.
