Topic: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

She knew it was only a matter of time before word got around to her parents that she was on the Skyplex, or back on as it were. But that did not stop Sapphire from setting up a little date, with Scarlett. Sure they had kept in touch over the years via the cortex, but there was nothing like sitting down face to face. They had some catching up to do, and if she had her way, trouble to get into now that she was back.

Sapphire settled into her chair, obviously arriving first, quite sure her rainbow colored hair would be a beacon for Scarlett. Sure they had maintained a friendship throughout her travels of the 'verse, but that didn't mean it would survive them both being in the same vicinity. Time would tell, she guessed.

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

Scarlett was typing away into her Cortex as she walked into the Broken Yolk. She was very concerned about whatever the Vaco was dragging their way, and whatever peril she had sent Jim Duncan into. But that was still 30 hours out and the chance opportunity to grab a meal with an old friend was something she needed equally well. As she entered the restaurant she gazed around the booths. The place brought back so many memories of misspent youth, not that the four years since she had last seen Sapphire were that long, but the girl seemed to bring trouble with her. Scarlett appriciated that about her friend. She wasn't quite sure what to expect of her, the girls appeared e shifted faster than the weather on normal worlds. The shock of rainbow hair across the room certainly worked like a beacon. "Holy crap! You actually are here! She said to her friend with a broad smile. She immediately pulled her friend in close for a heartfelt hug. "God its been dull without you around. But as the station administrator I expect you to keep it that way."

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

"Rather difficult to be late when there isn't much to do, as of yet." Sapphire jumped from her seat to enthusiastically return the hug. While it was true she was still avoiding her parents, she did know it was only a matter of time before that feat remained possible. And there were still a few days before she actually started work, if one called what she did work. Sapphire enjoyed performing so that it rarely felt like a job, or a chore. "I know, I know. I said I never would came back, yet here I am."

Sapphire gave Scarlett a wink, "Now. You know better than that, Red!" Dull was not in her vocabulary.

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

Scarlett gave her friend a sentimental smile. "Hah, not many folks arpund that still call me Red. Guess I've gone and grown up a bit." She thought about the statement for a moment before a rather wicked smile came across her face. "...well maybe not so much. A month or two back I got busted waking up drunk and naked on top of World of Storage. Haven't done that since we got those guys from...oh god, what was that ship?...whoever they were they were cute, but you were the one with the thermos full of whiskey."
-Scarlett

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

"Well," She started, tossing her hair back over her shoulder, "Don't expect me to stop." Sapphire had grown up aboard the Plex and saw no reason to change her nickname for Scarlett just because they were older. And supposedly responsible adults.

Laughter erupted from Sapphire, "I can't even remember! But they sure were fun, not to mention hot, which only inspired me to steal the whiskey. And I had to find something to put it in so we wouldn't get caught." The fun the two of them used to have, made it somewhat difficult to conceive that her friend was now in charge of the whole place.

"Ha! Speak for yourself. My father had me doing fluid changes at the docks for a month after that particular evening. Seems your folks were none the wiser though. You stopped by the shop to say hi, or are they pretending you aren't on board?"
-Scarlett

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

Sapphire had forgotten about that incident until Scarlet mentioned it. It had been an interesting, fun night. One that her parents had either never found out about, or choose to ignore. "Nah, dearie, they had given up trying to keep me out of trouble long before that night!"

"We are both pretending I'm not on board. You know they never liked my choices." Sapphire rolled her heavily painted eyes as she spoke of her parents. She was sure they hated the fact she was back on board, more than on occasion she had gotten the impression that she was an embarrassment. "I guess it'll happen eventually," running into her family.

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

Scarlett smiled and shook her head. "I always envied your choices, bad or otherwise. The board may not have hired me for this job if I'd done some of it, but sometimes I wonder if it wold have been worth it.

As to your parents, I'm sure they love you, even if you didn't come out to be the perfect little shop girl they had wanted. You were always too fun for that. Now look at you, glamorous, famous and a successful entertainer. All the places you must have seen..." She said dreamily.
-Scarlett

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

A mischievous grin crept onto Sapphire's painted lips, "I shall let you live vicariously through me, dearie, and try not to get into too much now that I am back. I would so hate to make you look bad, having to come bail me out." as truthful as she was, there was a teasing quality to Sapphire's voice. "And, it's always worth it!" she winked, laughing.

"OH, I'm sure. But love and like are totally different things. Sure they love me, but," she waved a hand in the air "They don't like my choices." In most everything, it seemed.

Sapphire

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

Scarlett lifted an eyebrow while rolling her eyes at her friend. "If it wasn't for the high entertainment value, nobody would like your choices... or maybe I should say everyone would just to watch the trainwreck. But no one wrecks a train like you. I'm so happy you are back. The station's been so dull without you... well dull except the terrorist bombings, pirate attacks and public riots. "
-Scarlett

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

Sapphire twirled the straw in her drink, "I do so love a good trainwreck, you know." Maybe not actually, but she so did love to stir things up. "I heard! I was ecstatic to hear that you weren't injured." she leaned forward, and winked, "what's wrong with a little public riot now and then." Once a Plexie, always a Plexie.

Sapphire

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

Scarlett shook her head at Sapphire's comment but uttered a less than enthusiastic "Forever and always," slipping Sapphire the traditional Plexie handshake. "I don't know Saph, the kids these days are different. It's not like there's a war on or anything anymore, but some of them are so high strung. Sure we were stupid, drank too much on top of the storage racks and played tag with security, but we weren't thugs and vandals. I mean it's not like we don't know who everyone of them are,and their parents, they just seem meaner than we were."
-Scarlett

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

"Probably just let the wrong ones in." She waved a hand dismissively. "Or they could be running around pretending to be a Plexie."

Sapphire

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

Scarlett's eyes widened up as she nodded in agreement. "Damned posers always mess up a good scene. Remember Chang Xiochong? What a loser! I mean every time the Tempest Widow came in port he was strutting around like he was born here. Of course in retrospect we could have been a little nicer to him. He probably just wanted friends."
-Scarlett

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

Sapphire tossed her head back in laughter, "Oh, dearie, that wasn't all the poor soul wanted!"

Sapphire

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

"Maybe from you!" She laughed playfully shoving her friend. "I was playing grease monkey changing fluids at the docks. Nobody gave me a second look."
-Scarlett

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

"That's just what you think." Sapphire gave Scarlett a playful wink. "They all love a gal that isn't afraid to get a bit....dirty." That she was quite sure of, whether or not it was admitted behind closed doors or not was a different story.

Sapphire

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

"Well somebody could have pointed that out at the time. I thought I was the social outcast, not that that has changed much. Everyone just wants to bitch at me now. I mean I get it, I'm in charge, but you have no idea how often i've wanted to run off and be you. See the Verse, party and be fabulous. My only adventures off the station were a back world's dust bowl called Aker's Bluff, and almost ending up in Prison running ops on an Iskellion Raider."
- Scarlett

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

Sapphire gave her a rather pointed albeit, friendly glare, and huffed. "Like you would have listened!" But then, wasn't that was teens did, not listen? "Well, Red, if it helps any....life on a cruise ship isn't all it seems to be." fun yes, but she was quite sure the Skyplex could be more fun now that she was an adult.

"So!" she began with a dramatic flare or clapping her hands together. "What kind of trouble are you willing to get into with me. I was thinking of venturing to Phantasm."

Sapphire

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

Scarlett gave her friend a broad smile, but put her hand up. "I'm not certain I should be romping around fetish clubs tonight. I've got a damaged ship with a potentially hazardous salvage arriving in the morning. I've got emergency services briefed on the plan, but this is going to be enough of a headache without adding a hangover to the mix."
-Scarlett

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

"pooh!" She huffed, yet again as she slouched back in the chair. "that is no fun. no fun at all." Yes, she was being a overly dramatic, but when was she not. "Just who am I supposed to have fun with? I need you!"

Sapphire

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

Scarlett looked at her friend's highly fake dejected face. Her lips rolled up in a smile. "Ok, fine, but just for an hour or so, and I'm not drinking. That whole hazardous cargo thing is very real. I just need to check in."

She pulled out her bulky old cortex and called up the office. =Marta, any word back from Mr. Duncan?" She paused listening to the woman's response. =It's not like him to be over due. Let me know as soon as you hear from him. I'm going to be running an inspection on Deck 5.=

She rolled her eyes again listening to the woman on the other end of the line. =Shut up! I am too. No drinks tonight. Honest, we've got a big day tomorrow... Fine... First thing once shifts change. Got it. Make sure security is up to speed.... Ok. Cheche.=

Scarlett closed down the connection and looked up at Jasmine. "All right one hour. Got it?"
-Scarlett

Re: Deck 3, Broken Yolk: Two by two

Sapphire's fake frown instantly turned into a joyous grin. She loved it when she won and someone caved. Especially when that someone was in obvious need of some down time. Her rainbow head nodded in agreement, "You got it. No drinking for Red."

Waving the waiter over, Sapphire had him add everything to her tab, to be billed. She reached for her current alcoholic beverage, finishing it off before removing herself from the table.

"I hear ya, love, one hour and no drinking."
