Re: Barracks

Alexandra Gorton stepped into the barracks, making her way towards the shower block. She calmly removed her clothing and stepped under the nozzle, turning it on. Her mind ran over the course of the mission and the destruction - that she had witnessed, that she had caused.

She remembered why she was here and was doing what she was doing. She had a huge gaping void in her life and combat was the only way to half way fill it.

She closed her eyes and wailed loudly.

Re: Barracks

Alexandra was given time to cry before a knock sounded on her door. A light knock, but still loud enough to hear.

"I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well to tell you the truth in all this excitement I kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and would blow you head clean off, you've gotta ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Re: Barracks

Alexandra heard the knock and turned the shower off. Wrapping a towel around herself, she grabbed her pistol, holding it by her side in case the new arrival was an assassin-o-gram. Then she walked over to the door of the shower block and opened it partly.

"Welcome to B&Q's Shower Testing Facility", she said, "Do you have an appointment?"

- Owl

OOC: B&Q is a British DIY chain. They do sell bathroom appliances.

Re: Barracks

A rather concerned Jocasta was at the door.

"I heard screaming... is something wrong?"

Re: Barracks

The voices of other pilots came to Alex's ears as he made his way upstairs and down the hallway to his quarters.  Room 236... his home away from home.  He opened the door and went in, securing the door behind him.  In a few moments he was enjoying a cold beer from his fridge, and studying the Arabic language instructional program on his PC.

Re: Barracks

John heard the various voices as he opened his door, taking in a breath as he looked in his room. Deciding he'd need an A/C unit and a fridge firstly. Testing the bed to discover he needed some mattress covers... or a new mattress.

He continued his look around before sitting on the bed, groaning as he took out various things from his bag, family pictures, his guns and clothes. Arranging things as he went, and when he finally got to the bottom of the bag he rolled it and set it in the closet along with his stuff, organizing pictures where he could.

Finishing this, he leaned against the wall and shut his eyes, and soon came the tears as he realized the gravity of his situation. Silently he sat in his room and watched as his vision blurred and he felt the salty sensation across his cuts.

Alexandra opened the door fully and stood back, to let Jocasta come in.

"No, no", she said, her like a teenage girl that had been caught reading Fifty Shades of Grey by her father, "I'm engaging in pent up energy release and anxiety cleansing. You take all your clothes off, get under a running shower and scream at the top of your lungs... Try it some time".

She ran her free hand through her wet hair.

"I'm going to go back and resume my screaming now", she said.

Re: Barracks

Jocasta came in, stood near the lockers and undressed. Giving Alexandra a full view of what caused her her limp, a metal prosthetic jutted from beneath her right knee. A testament to some former injury, and obviously career ending one.

"Ah well, this is me" She said as she knocked on the leg, resounding in a dull thud.

Alexandra looked at the metal prosthetic and smiled. Jocasta was really quite attractive...

"Nice pins!" she said, "Both of them. Tell me, can you wear that in the shower? Because I'd love for you to join me for a good cleansing scream".

She removed the towel, stepped under the shower and then turned it on. Closing her eyes, she let out a scream worthy of a slasher movie.

Re: Barracks

Having taken his time. John dried his eyes and stood up, walking his way towards the room where his other navy compatriot supposedly was. On his way there he decided he'd try something.

Once at the door, he knocked on the door loudly in the most aggressive way possible and said. In Arabic

"Infidel. Open the Door!"

And then he tried not to laugh

Re: Barracks

Alex had just completed a Rosetta Stone unit on swearing in Arabic, so he responded using his new-found vocabulary skills.  Because his command of Arabic was as yet imperfect, he was forced to use some English in his response to the command at his door.  "Come get some!", he shouted in English, then added in Arabic, "You pig eating son of a Damascus whore!"

All in all, the words flowed from his lips, as most cursing does for military personnel, and the Arabic words just had that certain harsh, satisfying "something" when spoken aloud.  However, in the event that this was in fact a rude but legitimate summoning by one of the local goons, Alex pulled his Sig Sauer and aimed at the door.  This might just be a novel way to successfully terminate his contract almost three years early.  Things were looking up...

Re: Barracks

Johns thoughts ran along the lines of "this honky is damn crazy" as heard the audible sound of cocking a gun. Understanding the differences between him with the kids and the Texan with nothing he started laughing, loudly.

"Hell of a way to get yourself shot." He yelled through the door and made bang bang noises.

"And you don't even gotta live six years" he added dryly

Re: Barracks

Alex heard John's voice through the door and relaxed, lowering the Sig and then holstering it.  "Yes, it's the third option on how to exit this base and your contract before your sentence is up", he said through the door.  "Come on in, you squid reprobate."  He unlocked the door and then resumed his seat at the desk.

Re: Barracks

"Bullet to the head isn't really the way I want to end a contract" John began as he came in. Revealing himself to be in a Hawaiian shirt and cargo shorts with a USS Carl Vinson hat on his head with a little VF-213 pin. His shirt was unbuttoned, showing that he was wearing a leather shoulder holster underneath.

"Also that's commander squid to you. Won't be taking no guff from a lower ranked attack pilot" he joked.

Re: Barracks

Alex gave John a flippant salute and grinned, then reached down for his small fridge to pull out a cold Spaten bier from Germany.  "May I interest the senior squid in a cold brewski?". he asked with raised eyebrow.  "Pull up a bunk and rest your old bones."  He paused to make sure John wanted the beer, then asked, "So, are you unpacked and ready to pay a visit to McCoy's?"

Re: Barracks

Alex shrugged and said, "Suit yourself", and put the cold beer back in the fridge.  He shut down his PC and grabbed his ballcap and aviator glasses, then said, "All right then, let's roll."  The two men exited Alex's room, and the Texan locked his door behind him. Then they left the barracks for the short walk over to McCoy's.  "So, was your room suitable?  Mine was basic except for the AC unit, which the previous occupant left behind.
As you can imagine, it has been a real godsend."

Re: Barracks

Jocasta glanced inquisitively down to her leg "I don't so" she said quietly as Alexandra resumed her screaming. Waking to the shower, she snapped off the limb and used the rails of the shower to hold herself up. Turning on the water she stood there silently.

Then a loud knocking was heard.

"Oi, Lass. STOP YER BLOODY SCREAMING IM HUNGOVER AND IM TRYING TAE' sleep"

Alexandra heard the call and stopped screaming.

Instead she yelled back.

"Shouldn't have gotten so drunk last night then!"

She didn't resume screaming, but instead carried on showering before turning to Jocasta.

"Men are so stupid sometimes. What do straight women see in them? A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle", she mused.

Re: Barracks

Eric made its way into the barracks and just barely noticed the end of the shouting match, befor disappearing in the mens shower room.
In there, he took his sweet time with the cold water, which was only a good thing during daytime hours ...
At night the amount of hot water was quite limited.
After the shower he went back to his room to get in a fresh flight suit and then headed out to McCoy's.

Maybe there was something new and shiny for all the cash he just got?

Re: Barracks

Jocasta would have given Alexandra a glance but was too busy keeping herself upright.

"You know, continuation of the species, money, security, not being looked at strangely. I'm sure those are all factors." She responded as she did her best to avoid her hair.

"Suppose there's something to having a partner though. I wouldn't know, mine left after she learned I only had one and a half legs"

"Precisely", Owl said, "They're unreliable. Half the time they're causing the security issues in the first place. With technology and stem cell research, we could one way do away with them entirely".

She turned off her show.

Re: Barracks

Tara entered the barracks and went to her room. Discovering it to be a Spartan thing that smelled like booze. It had an A/C unit though which she figured most didn't. Sitting her gear down inside she sat on the bed and dumped out her seabag, taking things out and putting them in the cheap dresser and on the table. She got a whiff of herself and realized that she needed a shower.

With this in mind she grabbed a change of what one could consider clothes and a towel and found the shower rooms. Which she entered and began to change, seemingly oblivious
