Re: Briefing Room - Command Building

"15 minutes, Jesus Gringa. I haven't even got a room yet and you want me to climb in a cockpit with this guy? What kinda plane you fly chachi?"

Herman asked to John who responded.

"F-14D"

Herman then sighed before getting up.

"If these are my orders then can you tell me somewhere where I can change eh?"

He got to one of the many wallmounted phones and pushed the quick dial that was written on the side for McCoys.

"So Marine, you ready to go through some ACM with a topgun trophy winner?"

"Yeah Bro, I'm good... Better at dropping bombs, but I'm good"

"Yeah?"

"Yeah man I was Fighter Attack/All Weather."

"Well we'll make sure those both get some work. Way I understand it the mission profile here is mostly ground attack"

And with that the two oldies were off to get ready.

"You two do indeed have a mission" Lena said as she put her cowboy boots up on the table. "Being that you are my two more trusted attack pilots. I'm sending you to hit a Mechanized Regiment before they can dig in. Pay for this is 30,000 and I need you in the air in 20."

She pauses for a moment and sorts through her papers.

"What your looking at is Soviet a early to mid Cold War era spread of equipment. AA is Iglas and just about every gun and rocket these guys can get their hands on. It's gonna be dangerous, but better than if they get dug in and unlimber their big stuff."

Re: Briefing Room - Command Building

Now they were getting somewhere.  "Do you have a preference in ordinance used?", Alex asked Lena, then added, "What are the priority targets on this mission?"  He thought about such a run, the payout, and what he could get from McCoys that would do the most damage.  "It might be a good time to use six sticks of Mk82 GP bombs, based on the targets.  That's 30 bombs, but I'm not sure what McCoy's would charge for that many in one purchase.  I don't want to put all my money into ordinance and wind up with a $3 net profit."  He considered the idea of cluster munitions as well... hmmm... this might be a better option on a ground strike of this type, but wasn't sure what a load would cost him out of pocket.

Lena consults her papers before giving you an answer "About 15,500, I'm not really one to offer suggestions. But cluster bombs are always good for busting armor. Or did you forget Desert Storm?"

Re: Briefing Room - Command Building

OOC - Not familiar with an A7E's use of cluster munitions.  IronForte gave me a copy of a Vietnam era load-out with Mk 20 Rockeye bombs, showing I can take on six, three on each outer pylon.  They are reportedly 490 pounds each, so I'd only be using 20% of my potential ordinance delivery capability.  Do you concur, or can I load up on them?  If the former case holds (6), I'd order 8 or 12 Mk 20 cluster bombs from McCoys to get a bigger discount, and keep my unused bombs in storage.  ($1,300 x 6 = $7,800 x 25% discount = $5,850) or ($1,300 x 12 = $15,600 x 50% = $7,800)  Comments ma'am?

Re: Briefing Room - Command Building

OOC: well firstly. Those are from desert storm, secondly. All of those loadouts are accounting for the way they flew A-7s in Storm. Which usually was with drop tanks and two of the Pylons removed because the 7 needed to hump a ways into Iraq. This is from testimony of ground crews and ordnance techs who launched the last planes along with the pilots themselves. Also you can carry as many Rockeyes as you can Mk82s. See Lena's loadout in the last mission. Honestly I want you to take iniative on this so. Do what you want. Also it's Ordnance and not Ordinance

Alex nodded as he listened to Lena about no drop tanks, then turned to RD and said, "So what sort of load out are you going to carry RD?  This is a fixed payout for an attack mission, so I don't want to blow all my income on ordnance.  I can carry my standard load of six cluster bombs, and then add four AIM-9 Sidewinders to the two already aboard to give us some teeth on defense."  He paused and watched his new wingman, then asked, "Comments?"

"30 grand per pilot right?" RD asked inquisitively as she glanced back to the expectant Texan, taking out her tablet and scrolling until she found what she was looking for.

"Well since with that load you're clearly gonna make me do all the work. I'm taking 24 Rockeyes  16 Zuni pods and 6 Mavs. Which may seem like over kill but we can always get additional tasking"
