Re: A Deck - Common Area

Svara came up into the common area from the upper cargo hold. Seeing Lydia, Eponine, and the girl she assumed was their daughter, she nodded politely and began the short stroll around the room and down the corridor.

Re: A Deck - Common Area

With a slow, even step, Svara made her way to the end of the hall where the ship's locker was. She was fairly certain that the door would be locked, but she gave the handle a try anyway, just to cover all bases. It was locked, so she turned and made her way back into the main common area, passing the upper deck quarters as she went.

OOC: for continuity, Eponine was in the Galley.

Re: A Deck - Common Area

OOC - Thanks Misty... I saw the post for the bridge, so Eponine will be with Laura now, and they can work on the engine run-up exercise.

Re: A Deck - Common Area

Everyone had vacated already in just the time it had taken her to do the round. She'd heard Lydia putting her daughter back into her room (poor little thing, caged in there), but didn't get involved. It was pretty clear the two women were overly protective and it didn't feel like now was a good time to go stickin' her nose into things.

She frowned a little at the empty tables, wondering how long it was going to take for the crew to become 'crew' enough to talk to each other. Oh well, these things take time, she thought. With that, she headed back down to B Deck.

Re: A Deck - Common Area

The comm system came to life with the voice of the Captain...

="Good morning crew, this is the Captain speaking.  We are about to continue the engine tests, so please be advised we will be accelerating the ship in a few moments.  If all goes well this will be completed within an hour at most.  That is all."=

------------- Time Line Cut ------------

The Captain's voice came over the intercom, saying,

="Attention all hands, this is the Captain.  Our current ETA at the target sending the SOS is 20 minutes. Depending on what we find when we close, we may or may not have a boarding party.  I'm going to go ahead and sound General Quarters.  Our Medic and Chef will man the Infirmary station.  I suggest the Fire Team arm themselves and assemble in the Common Area of B Deck to facilitate a boarding action, if there is one.  All other personnel are to remain in their cabins for the duration.  That is all."=

The intercom message closed, and was followed immediately by a pulsing strobe light on all emergency lighting fixtures, as well as an audible ping sound that repeated at a regular interval.  Then the Captain's voice came over the intercom against saying, ="General Quarters, General Quarters.  All hands to Battle Stations."=

The GQ alarm stopped suddenly, and the captain's voice said, ="This is the Captain.  I believe everyone has had enough of the GQ sugnal, so I've turned it off.  Fire and Medic Teams please report your status."=

Re: A Deck - Common Area

Svara opened the hatch and led in the two men from the Mayfair. "This is the A Deck Common Room," she said as she ushered them in. "If you'd care to take a seat, we should have dinner ready in a shake." She moved toward the dumb waiter, looking for the plates from below.

Robert took a seat near the bulkhead and began to let himself relax. His muscles relaxing and his posture dropping.

Carson parked at the second table and found a spot in the corner near the other bulkhead , he noticed that the ship was similar to the Mayfair, probably the same space frame , but Kestrel was well kept up , this common area was clean
He notices Robert was more relaxed and his comment was well different

" And don't forget the carbohydrates in the side servings '

Carson was starting to relax now , He wanted to check out the compact medical unit

Re: A Deck - Common Area

Svara was relieved to see the tension in these two survivors was coming down. She hoped it stayed that way once the rest of the crew - including their debriefers - joined them. For the moment, she simply stood silent by the dumb waiter, letting them talk to each other and settle in.

With a press of a button, Louis sent the dumb waiter upward - it had on it the glasses, silverware, plates, and other sundries needed to eat a meal. The main course though he'd send up second. Right now he placed it back in the oven to keep it warm until he'd get to loading that when the dumb waiter came back down.

Re: A Deck - Common Area

The hum of the dumb waiter's motor alerted Svara that a load of dinner things would arrive shortly. As soon as it did, she made quick work of off-loading the dinnerware onto the close side of the nearest table and sent it back down.

Having accomplished that, she got to work setting the two tables as efficiently as she could.

Hearing the doctor's voice, Svara looked up at the two survivors and shook her head. She hesitated a moment as if looking for the right words and then responded: "Thank you, but you can relax. This is the least I can do after the day you've had."

Once she finished setting up, she returned to the dumb waiter to await the next round.

Delilah entered the room and glanced at the survivors present before making her way over to the dumb waiter. Where she nodded to Svara and waited.

"I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well to tell you the truth in all this excitement I kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and would blow you head clean off, you've gotta ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?" -Harry Callahan

" Aye and what a day it has been "

Carson leaned back against the bulkhead thankful for this crews timely rescue

Re: A Deck - Common Area

Svara returned her roommate's nod, but said nothing further as there seemed no need. She was glad Delilah was here, and glad to hear the doctor was feeling more relaxed. Hopefully Robert was as well, but she figured it would take them a few days or weeks at least to settle in properly.

Hopefully the food would be up soon and then they could break bread.

OOC - Well folks, it looks like we're about to close up shop here at Phoenix due to a general and wide-spread lack of participation.  I am proud to say, though, that Kestrel was alive and active here at the end.  I've enjoyed my years of RPing here at Phoenix, and I wish all of you only the best.  God bless you all, and thank you for helping us go out with a bang.
