A prominent feature of the Imperial-class was its bridge tower. Located atop the tower were twin deflector shield generator globes and a tractor beam targeting array. The command bridge itself featured two elongated pits set below floor level, whose walls were lined with monitors and control panels. In addition, six more duty station consoles were mounted freely in each pit. The superiors officers stood on a walkway surrounding the pits at the normal deck height. All the consoles were aligned perpendicular to the walkway. A small room behind the main bridge existed separated by a single blast door, which had access to advanced communications equipment and a holographic imaging table. This arrangement was considered beneficial for denoting rank hierarchy within the ship

The Captain stood looking out the forward viewport of his Star Destroyer. He held his hands behind his back, one tightened into a fist. Life in command was a continuous state of vigilance and responsibility. And now it was time to begin efforts anew to stand as the symbol of the Empire's might, bringing the benefits of civilization to another backward world on the rim. "Have our course set to the Jelcun system. You may make our jump to hyperspace when ready." He spoke his order to the XO, who relayed it to the Commander's in the recessed control pits below the command deck. Crews quietly and efficiently made preparations for the immense battleship to jump hyperspace. The navigation computer parsed out the intricate calculations to reach the Captains destination of choice. Lights on boards quickly toggled from red to green. The XO  leaned into the Captain and softly related, "The boards show we are cleared for hyperspace jump. The waste is being ejected, and we shall be on our way shortly." His hand was held up, as the focal point for the Commander's.

The operations officer spoke into his headset for ship wide announcements. <Attention all decks, Dominator will be entering hyperspace in one minute. All hands to secure stations. One minute to hyperdrive initiation. That is all.>

The Captain continued to look out the viewport. Small indicator lights showed the ships status to him. If he saw them, it was unacknowledged. Department heads quickly entered the bridge and made their way to their jump stations, the wiser ones taking a secure seat. The zcaptain was unphased, he had made thousands of jumps and could keep his feet quite comfortably. After a pause he simply nodded, the XO's arm dropped silently, and space around them turned to starlings.

Re: Bridge

Senior Commander Taal had taken his designated seat on the Bridge prior to the jump.  He had slotted his ID card through the station's secure access strip and activated his station.  From there he could monitor his entire air wing.  All units were safely aboard... no surprises.  Good...  He then immersed himself in the Bridge operations as the ship went to light speed.

After the jump was made and the ship on her way in light speed, he turned to his comm unit and called his office.  "Jenkins, the Captain has placed us in Hyperdrive in route to our next assignment.  Given the situation, cancel the planned exercise and stand down the crews from ready status.  We'll pick up again when we exit Hyperdrive.  We'll want to have a squadron on ready status when we exit Hyperdrive, just in case.  Taal out."

Re: Bridge

Once all his entries were completed on his Bridge station, Taal signed off and headed for the Hanger Deck to check on his men and the preparations of his fighters.  He nodded to the XO as he go up to leave, and headed for the lift.  They had time in Hyperspace to finish their preparations for ops on planet, and Taal wanted to see how things were going for himself.  The lift door hissed shut and the Senior Commander was on his way.

Re: Bridge

On the bridge, the Captain paced along the walkway as officers and technicians in the pits prepared for the Star Destroyer to drop out of Hyperspace. The communications officer spoke into his headset, <Real space reversion in five... four... three... two... one.... Cutting in Sublight engines.>

The captain nodded, knowing that his pilots would be watching. The helmsman pulled back on the Hyperspace actuator and tiny starlines suddenly flashed into set constellations. The pink and white marble that was Jelcun was dominating the viewport as the Star Destoyer dropped into a close orbit of the planet. Small clusters of lights could be seen just beyond the terminator on the dark side of the planet. It was populated, but not massively like a world of the Core.

The Captain exhaled softly. "So it begins." he softly stated to no one. "Bring us into geosynchronous orbit above the Capitol city. Let their space traffic control know of our arrival as if they could not see us and have them divert all local air traffic out of our protection zone. Inform the First Officer and Senior staff that I will expect them in the Conference room in five minutes."

The Captain's aides quickly relayed his orders to the assorted departments and planetary authorities. The Captain stood by the forward windows looking at this new world they were about to encounter.
