Topic: The cryochamber - inactive sims just waiting to be revived

The following sims are available to be reactivated if someone wants to run them

If players wish to release their old, frozen sims to the community (new SLs should of course liaise with the creators), please post here or let the Sim Support Officer know by whatever means you feel is appropriate.

Re: The cryochamber - inactive sims just waiting to be revived

Love the concept of the listing! Very nice.

Re: The cryochamber - inactive sims just waiting to be revived

Love the name, too!

Working down the Index regarding the sims we've set to invisible which only Euan, Silent, and, I think, myself can see:

Miranda is just waiting on Grant's go-ahead to reopen it.
Stargate: Resistance is waiting for Dawn to have more time in RL to try re-launching it
SGA: The Lost may be available. Jay?
Starbase 222 may be available. Krista, Kevin?
We had Second Age and Third Age Middle Earth sim proposals which never launched. These are both fair game. Silent, could you add them to the wiki?
The Land of Good Neighbours Robert only recently closed.
Farscape was Bill Greene's, but he hasn't returned since Christmas. I suggest we may want a discussion on how long before a sim concept becomes fair game after its creator leaves. Perhaps as few as 30 days for sims set in pre-existing universes, perhaps never for sims set in universes originated by the sim creator?
Warhammer 40k may be available. Will?
The Witcher may be available. Robert?

Re: The cryochamber - inactive sims just waiting to be revived

I've added Second and Third Age, along with Farscape.

Re: The cryochamber - inactive sims just waiting to be revived

My top priority for that list is An Baile Ur since that was such a success in the old country and I could see that start up again here for certain. And yeah, The Land of Good Neighbors and The Witcher can both go up as well.  smile

Maybe we could also add a list of people interested in seeing the sim start up so that way people are aware of how much interest might still be there? The Witcher had Jason Andersen, The Land of Good Neighbors had Krista, and An Baile Ur had Jason Wypij and Angela Austin (tentatively, pending more interest) who has not come to Phoenix RP (yet). I was also in touch with another previous player for An Baile Ur who was going to get back to me about whether or not they'd be happy to play again (they never did but this reminded me to e-mail them back).

An Baile Ur has had 2 and possibly 3 people interested but with the exception of 1 of those, the rest are not yet members of Phoenix RP. So... An Baile Ur seriously has the best odds of bouncing back I would say. Definitely want that one on the list of inactives.

If someone wants SB222, I want to be aboard and negotiate mine and others involvement in the decision process. Starbase 222 and USS Intruder are my "child".

Re: The cryochamber - inactive sims just waiting to be revived

As An Baile Ur was never active here in the first place, it can't be 'inactive'. That said, I'll reopen the thread for it.

Absolutely. I'm going to a start a thread on sim ownership so we can assert sim creator's rights to their 'brain children'.

Re: The cryochamber - inactive sims just waiting to be revived

The thread on sim ownership should be turning up a draft policy soon.

Meanwhile, we need to add Georgia Taylor to cryo. Silent, can you please add it to the list on the wiki?

Also, the Third Age sim was actually my creation and I'd asked Olee to SL it as I'd be SLing Fourth Age. I'm happy for anyone interested in opening a Third Age sim to either use the groundwork I'd prepared, or of course to do something else entirely. There were several thousand years to the T.A. after all and the concept I'd floated - a sim set in Pelargir at the time of the War of the Ring - is only one possible option for a sim. But yeah, people should feel free to use it.

Re: The cryochamber - inactive sims just waiting to be revived

Wheel of Time will be added to the list shortly.

It seems like we may be missing some other sims though. I'll have to take a look back at my notes...

Re: The cryochamber - inactive sims just waiting to be revived

I would be happy to take over the Farscape sim if they was interest for it I have seen everything but the tv movie.  Since i am finally at a point in which I can start increasing my time around here.

The Lost can remain lost for it doesn't seem like it gained enough interest in the first place to run.

Jason, feel free to add WoT to cryo when you're able to, or ask one of the other wikiwizards to do it if you want it there but are still catching up.

Jay, would you like to open a thread for trying to reinvigorate the Farscape sim?

It's on my "todo" list. Right after "Catch up on all sims".

:-) Saw you've posted on the Ele, looking forward to reading it. Also to you posting on Middle Earth.

Re: The cryochamber - inactive sims just waiting to be revived

Seems I'm only able to get to about one (new) sim a day, because of all the back reading that I've needed to do and keeping up with the ones I'm now "re-active" on.

Can you do Middle Earth next? ;-) No, really, no pressure, I know you'll get to it when you can. :-)

Although there have been less than 15 posts, all in one easy to read thread. Quick win. Just saying. :-D

Re: The cryochamber - inactive sims just waiting to be revived

We'll see what I can get through today. Seems the crash I had last night caused me to relogin, and thus I now have things I haven't actually read being marked as read, so going through today is going to be slower as I make sure I haven't missed something (probably will anyway). sad

Re: The cryochamber - inactive sims just waiting to be revived

Saw a few sims get put in cryo recently and wondered about resuming one or two of them.

I'm interested in:

1. A Kingdom for a Stage or something like it, set in the Middle Ages. Anyone else interested in a medieval sim?

2. Miranda, which I felt was a really cool Firefly sim concept, but I was too busy at the time to join it. The brief reads a lot like a frontier Western, with everything that's good about Firefly (technology, culture, conspiracy, Reavers...) thrown in, so a lot to run with, really. :-)

3. Possibly a Mass Effect sim. I know we've had two Mass Effect sims before, which suggests its popularity, and where I'm getting well psyched for Star Wars lately I'm feeling the space opera vibe, you know?

4. Another Star Wars sim. At the moment we have a small but growing Rise of the Empire sim set soon after Episode 3, and we have a popular Old Republic sim set contemporary to KotOR, but there are many other time periods and locations in the SW universe we could explore. Or am I jumping the blaster here, and we should wait just a few more weeks til Episode 7 comes out and maybe set something in the new era?

I'd be game for joining a ME sim, I've still got my character idea from the previous one before that shut down smile

Re: The cryochamber - inactive sims just waiting to be revived

I wish I was around when Kingdom for a Stage was active, that interests me, whether running or playing it.
