Re: General Coordinator Elections 2014

It goes without saying any nomination this year sent my way I will turn down. I do not feel I am ready yet to take on such a responsibility, that and I wish to show everyone here that when next year comes, I am ready.

As my first choice is not running for GC, there is one person I now nominate for the position. This person has reliably, and without fail shown that they have the balance, poise, adaptability, and calm demeanor that others can rely on. Also in my darkest moment this person has shown what I feel is that quality that one should look for in a leader. Compassion.

He is a good team player and a quick study, and I think he will provide a quick transition into the next phase of the site's overall future.

I hereby nominate Spart for the position of General Coordinator, and will support his campaign.

Nomination, ummm....

I've given this some thought, pondered over the active members that we currently have and I have  decided to nominate Giogio.

Re: General Coordinator Elections 2014

I second that nomination: Giorgio.

Re: General Coordinator Elections 2014

I third that nomination.

Re: General Coordinator Elections 2014

i was nominated ? for what ? o.O GC ? you know i'm just here to fly fancy jets in the maintime ?
i have little to no clue what's going on in the other sims ...
sometime i still have the new kid feeling hehe, because i know only a hand full of people here

on the other hand, at the moment i have time at hand, so i could go around and collect numbers.
but i dunno what i should write in newsletter and stuff, or is there personal for this ??

i'm a bit overwhelmed that some lazy otaku as me gets nominated for such an important role

thanks Osprey for trusting me so much!

i don't know who i should vote for (certainly not for myself, because i don't feel like i'm though enough for the job), so i hope you find someone who is capable and reliable!

(because that's for all of us who enjoy RPing!)

Re: General Coordinator Elections 2014

Very good Spart,  I'll put you down as running. Thanks.

Re: General Coordinator Elections 2014

I accept the nomination.

Re: General Coordinator Elections 2014

Looks like we got a foot race developing. Nominations and confirmations will be open until 5pm PST on Sunday. So anyone still wanting in, let us know soon.

As we are running multiple Candidates, any candidate that achieves greater than 50%+1 of the cast votes will win outright. If the count comes out less than the 50%+1 there will be a run off between the two highest vote getters.

Re: General Coordinator Elections 2014

Why don't we use rank-pair like we did in the previous TC election?

Re: General Coordinator Elections 2014

I don't mind either way... it's not like I'm running.

Re: General Coordinator Elections 2014

True, but as a part of the membership you should at least care how the admins are elected...  roll

Re: General Coordinator Elections 2014

It appears it is also time to make nominations for technical coordinator. If you have someone in mind that would be a great technical coordinator or you would be interested yourself, chime in!

Re: General Coordinator Elections 2014

A new thread might be in order for that.

Re: General Coordinator Elections 2014

Ok, Giorgio has accepted his nomination, so we've got a solid race going on. Anyone still wanting to nominate someone for GC please do so by 5 pm PST today.

Re: General Coordinator Elections 2014

Nominations for General Coordinator are now closed. The candidates for the office are:

Misty
Spart
Jason
Giorgio

Candidates will be asked a series of questions beginning tomorrow to help the membership evaluate their options.

I'd like to point out it's not just a choice here. Admin policy 11 is quite clear:

8. Where there are more than two candidates for a position, voting will be by ranked pairs, i.e. voters will be presented with the opportunity to rank the candidates in order of preference and the most popular candidate will win.
9. Using ranked pairs enables us to determine the next most popular candidate running for a position in an election in the event that any candidate withdraws their candidacy after the voting is tallied, sorted, and locked.

Re: General Coordinator Elections 2014

Ah, I had forgotten we had actually voted that into the policy. Good call, Euan.
