Re: Elections 2014

Voting for General Coordinator and Technical Coordinator is now closed. Results shortly.

Re: Elections 2014

Alright folks here are the results. After a rather tight 10 days where favor pivoted from one candidate to another, we have the results.... (Cue Drum Roll)

For General Coordinator the winner with 33% of the ranked voting is Jason Andersen. Third times the charm. The office of Contender goes to the second place Candidate with 27% of the vote, Misty Wilson.

Technical Coordinator we came out with a straight tie of 50% each. I did not find a write up in the policies as to how to deal with a tie in an election. While this one has a solution that seems pretty straight forward, this should be clarified for future elections.  Assuming Jason wishes to keep his title of General Coordinator, that would mean that Euan Reid retains the sole possession of his keys to the Technical Coordinator position.

Quite literally one or two voters could have changed either of these races, so your votes have great value. Thank you to everyone that participated in the election of our governance. Congratulations all!

Congratulations to the winners!

Congratulations winners!

Re: Elections 2014

I would like to congratulate both of the winners. They'll do a great job and I wish them every success.

As I step away from the post of General Coordinator, I would like to thank you for all your support, apologise for the times I've messed up and wish Phoenix, as it approaches its fourth anniversary, a long and successful future.

Re: Elections 2014

Thanks, I am humbled by the result! I know the others nominated were worthy and I would encourage all of you to run again next year. I agree with Kevin, I'll withdraw from the TC result, thus making Euan TC once again (4 years in a row, I believe! Perhaps one day he'll want to retire… wink ).

Next, let me say a hearty THANK YOU to Silent for all of the work he's done both up front and behind the scenes to keep Phoenix running. Much respect!

I'll be partying hard all weekend in celebration, and ready to roll up my sleeves come Monday. smile

Re: Elections 2014

Not entirely sure if I am supposedly to formally accept the Contender position, but just in case.... I do. I'm really looking forward to seeing what this next year has in store for Phoenix.

Re: Elections 2014

I don't think we have formal rules on accepting for Contender, although I do recall talking about what would happen if the 2nd most vote getter didn't want to serve as Contender. So I'd assume the rules are similar to the elected officials rules.

Re: Elections 2014

I believe that gives a candidate 10 days to claim their position.

Re: Elections 2014

Have you picked a deputy yet, Jason?

Re: Elections 2014

Not yet. I'm working on the 2nd order of business as described here, which involves reviewing the current administration and potentially making changes:

5. Once all elected offices have been filled, the second order of business shall be filling of appointed offices, starting with Officers who have oversight over other Officers. This includes both those Officers with remits pertaining to Phoenix itself, and those Officers with remits representing Phoenix to outside bodies, etc.
