What do people think to me opening a thread here where SLs can post a record of sim-level awards? SLs won't have to announce sim-level awards here, but it might be a good way to share the fun with a wider audience.

Re: Discussions

So the awards proposal hasn't been formally voted on (yet), and it calls for elections in November and awards being given in December. However, I wouldn't mind starting the process immediately, and perhaps awarding the awards in January. I'm open to comments either for or against. If I get a few "Yeah, go for it"s then I may just start the process in the next few days (first would be getting an award trio together).

I don't have an opinion on the subject - whenever other people think is best is fine with me.  smile

Re: Discussions

While I have personal reservations regarding the concept of awards, I do recognise that celebrating excellence is an important part of any community. I'd say go on ahead at your own speed, Jason, and implement an awards system as soon as you're able to. The November/December thing was to have a sort of yearly cycle of awards, but an alternative might be to have the Awards fall slightly before the elections in spring? I think I personally prefer the idea of doing them in either November-December or December-January as it would kind of fir the fin de siecle vibe common at that time of year, though.
