Topic: Sim-level Awards

This thread is for Sim Leaders to publicise awards they've given their players. These can be serious, semi-serious, and otherwise. :-) SLs don't have to post such here, but I thought it might be a way of sharing the fun.

Re: Sim-level Awards

I'll go first! I hereby reward myself with the AWESOME player award, for being awesome! Yeah!

*crickets*

What?

(kidding aside, I'll have to give this some serious thought)

Re: Sim-level Awards

Right, I'll start this. I'm awarding the "Bringer of Joy to the Workplace" Trophy to Jason Wypij's character "Angel" on Kvant.

He's such a positive character. wink

Re: Sim-level Awards

^^^ Hilarious!  lol

Re: Sim-level Awards

I've taken note of a few other awards that have come about since this was first posted:

09/27/2011: Aidan Fal awarded The Ash Leighton Plom Triple Zero SL's Award for Awesome GM Art Showing Us Where Our Characters Are In A Particular Scenario
09/30/2011: Jason Andersen awarded The Ash Leighton Plom Triple Zero SL's Award for Comedic Awesomeness
10/12/2011: Zuzutoo awarded The White Oryx award for positive portrayal of an Arab. (Fighter Ops, awarded by Silent Hunter)

I accept this somewhat obtuse award with humility and a big raised eyebrow XD

Thanks for updating this thread, Silent, and my apologies for my oversight in failing to post copies those awards I issued as an SL!

Re: Sim-level Awards

I've been catching up on sims and had the very good pleasure of reading the Elemental this evening and all the excellent posts generated there during my extended LOA. It'd criminal of me to fail to recognise some of the brilliance, so here we go:

The Ash Leighton Plom SL Award for the Most Consistent Protrayal of Haitian Creole and Interesting Related Linguistic Discussion goes to Robert Longtin, as does The Ash Leighton Plom SL Award for the Most Balanced Study of Voodoo Through the RPing of a Houngan goes to Robert Longtin.

The Ash Leighton Plom SL Award for the Most Amazing Ninja Skills Stopping Just Short of the Ability to Fly (this award, in fairness to Jason, is long overdue) goes to Jason Andersen.

The Ash Leighton Plom SL Award for the Elemental's Best Kept Secret (a play on words refering to Bletchley Park, see http://www.colindaylinks.com/bletchley/) goes to Jay Wypij for Julius Mann, known to the crew as Jackson Smart, who is successfully managing to keep his identity and prowess secret even in the face of recognition from NPCs and despite facing moral dilemmas, while reliably acting on his good conscience protecting innocents, etc.

The Ash Leighton Plom SL Award for Wyatt Steele's Plain and Simple Awesomeness goes to Mike Miller. I actually love essentially every Wyatt post I ever read, he's superlative.

The Ash Leighton Plom SL Award for The Best Facilitating of Player Brilliance in Bringing Out in Characters Exactly What the Players Wanted Brought Out goes to Amanda Bond.

The Ash Leighton Plom SL Award for Once Again Temporarily Playing Players' Characters During Their Absences with such Excellence that in Several Posts I Forgot I was Reading a GM Post and Thought I was in fact Reading a Post by the Actual Player of the Character also goes to Amanda Bond.

Re: Sim-level Awards

Congratulations to all! I have now added these to the Wiki.

Re: Sim-level Awards

I have two SIMs to run awards for, and for each, I'll jot down some separately.

Even though I'm the GM of Triple Zero, I'd like to put these awards out with Ash's blessing. smile

the 'Most Likely To Have An Awkward Meeting With Han Solo' award goes to Jason Anderson and his double portrail of an Antilles with Solo-leanings. By the end of this SIM, whenever that should come, I think he'll have exhausted all quotes from the entire trilogy and most of the expanded universe books.

the 'Most Likely To Wear Human Entrails As a Bonnet' award goes to Ash Plom, and the ever questionable mental/processor health of A-3SC. May this droid never get bored in transit.

I'm finding it hard to put awards down for BtVoT, having so few members.

The 'Most Likely Not To Do Her Homework' award goes to Myfanwy, and her player Zuzutoo.
Why isn't she in school again?

The 'Most Likely To Stare Down Evil Armed Only With An Air Guitar' goes to Robert Longtin.
Only a true warrior would have the balls, and crank the power up to 11.

Awesome, congrats to all! I should probably give out awards too, some day, when I get caught up with the site.  mad

Re: Sim-level Awards

Thanks Aidan! Of course, your praise of me has lowered the likelihood of A3 wearing any NPC entrails as a bonnet. The down side is that this has conversely increased the likeliness of him murdering a player character to use their entrails instead. smile

For D'ni: Infinite Ages - Prison Break...

The Wordly award goes to Amanda Bond for being able to jump into a setting at a disadvantage and yet be absolutely capable of fitting in and prospering...both in and out of character!

Re: Sim-level Awards

Congrats, Amanda!

I think I need to create a sim-level badge that indicates someone has a sim-level award (not unique to each award, just a general badge). Then if someone wants to look up the sim-level awards they can go to the wiki or this thread to see what the award was.

Well done, Amanda!

Jason - good idea about the badge.

Re: Sim-level Awards

Agreed, that would be a great addition.
