The Glory of Ten Heavens, a Knorr Class light transport freighter, positioned itself outside the docking lanes of Greenleaf Skyplex. The Glory contained 3 crew, 5 passengers plus one dog.

Irina and the other passengers waited in the holding area in the cargo bay. Irina had interrogated each of the passengers in turn on their 1st day and deemed them all the be "of no importance to mission parameters". She had spent 11 days in transit. The artifical gravity had been incorrectly calibrated amongst other glaring omssions of the general state of the ship. 'Full payment in advance' she had been told prior to lift off before she had the opportunity to examine the ship.

She made a quick check of her standard issued equipment; all items secured and accounted for. She strapped the backpack frame on her shoulder and felt inside her belt pouch to ensure she had her ident card and other travel documents. Yakov 2nd lay on the hard steel floor as moody as ever. He had struggled to adapt the harsh space travel and longed for solid ground under his paws.

"I'm so sorry my friend", Irina whispered in Russian,"I pray to the Earth Mother we will find peace soon."

The other passengers had kept away from Irina during the course of their travel. She had come aboard unter her Bounty Hunter licence and credentials. But after the 1st day she unnerved the crew and passengers when she came to the dinner table wearing her former Alliance field uniform - Grey and Black and screaming 'I'm Alliance don't mess with me'. None of the passengers or crew were wanted criminals she had checked their scans against the registry before embarkment.

The only levity she had found was one of the crew members had seen Yakov 2nd use the bathroom. He had taken some digishots and he found the idea of a dog using a toilet most amusing.

The Glory manoeuvred to dock at Berth 7. The right stabilizer bellowed and then misfired as the ship came in at the wrong angle. The pilot compensated for the fault and the light transport ship made a hard landing.

Irina waited for the door to open and walked out in disgust without a word. This ship and crew were destined to die in the void where they belonged. The other passengers were taking their time with their luggage and other personal items. She watched the sheer incompetance of these off worlders needlessly waste time arguing amongst themselves while they prepped for disembarkment.

The rules clearly stated that she was under the passenger manifest of the Glory and could not leave until she had cleared customs and signed off on her transportation contract.

Re: Docking Ring - Deck 4

A long gangway brought the passengers through the airlock and into the main part of the docking ring. A pair of MacZarek uniformed guards stood in position between two professionally dressed people standing behind a portable terminal counter. Signs in Mandarin, English, Russian and Swaihili clearly stated this was traveler registration. A que of passengers formed up as the two dock personell processed their ident credentials.

The crew and passengers had a familiarity with the station so she hoped they knew the protocols. She looked around the docking ring before kneeling down and touching the hard steel floor. This station was all artificial and an abomination in the eyes of the Earth Mother. Human beings were not supposed to live in the stars amongst the Gods. The very name of this station, Greenleaf, mocked her very faith in The Great Tree.

Earth Mother forgive my sins Irina prayed to herself as she waited in line for processing.

With the grace, maneuverability, and high speeds, and the careful, gentle precision in his stopping, Danny's golf cart came to a halt in front of Berth 7. He'd watch the screens throughout the station to see if he could get some advanced notice about ships just arriving. Seems to have paid off this time.

Switching the displays on the side of the cart from Docking Ring - Berth 7 to Speedy Transportation Services with an animated golf cart zipping past, he relaxed for a few seconds. He sat center of the field of vision for those getting off the transport freighter, just past customs. While waiting for passengers to clear customs, he pulled out his cortex to finish a draft of a wave he had been thinking about and constantly revising in his spare time.

=Dear sir or madam, my name is Daniel Franco. I'm the owner of Speedy Transportation Services, a new business here on Greenleaf. In my efforts to better establish myself, I'd like to let you know about my services and if it interests you I'd like to take a moment to discuss with you a possible arrangement that might be mutually beneficial.

As you well know, getting clients in the door is the first big step. With Speedy Transportation Services, now it's even easier. With cash in hand, clients are ready to pay to get from point A to point B all over the station - why not make point B your business?

Imagine a client is done for the day and begins walking around the station looking for something to do. Moments later Speedy Transportation Services comes by offering an express service to your business AND at a discounted price.

The first step is exclusive advertising space along with a promotion - discount express transportation to your business.

I'd really love to tell you more, but I'd prefer to meet with you in person to discuss this great offer with you. If you're interested, please send me a wave with a time when I can meet with you personally.

Daniel Franco
Owner and Operator
Speedy Transportation Services
=

He read it once over again. Hesitant, though certain there was no way to improve upon his promotion, he held his breath and pressed the button to send it off to the few businesses he selected as recipients. He exhaled happiness, a grin creeping across his face. He was on his way.

Irina saw the taxi man. His appearance and unusal mode of transportation could provide her the means to conduct the surveillance she needed without drawing attention to her. This taxi man provided all the miss-direction she needed.

Irina fixed onto Daniel's Cortex and sent him a wave while looking directly at him from the customs line
=Can you provide transport to a real living tree on the station?=

= Ve ar clearing customs kew at Berth cemb [ooc: russian for 7]. I vill message after complete protokols. Do not vait. Pree-yat-nogo dnya [ooc: have a nice day]=

OOC: I've decided the 1st message was "text based" with Irina using automatic translation software from Russian to English. The 2nd wave is a voice message in her thick accent. Hope that makes sense.

Irina didn't want the taxi man charging her for waiting. Her pack included all standard issue Alliance equipment including her side arm, spare clips, survival knife and one dismantled sniper rifle in a carry case. She expected a long interrogation and many permit fees. The last year had been hard on everyone and resources were becoming scarce on the rim worlds. Prices were going up, everyone was desperate for money with the uncertainity of another great war brewing.

Danny was quite confused by the new voice message. Don't wait? Berth 'cemb'? He flicked his displays over to The Hub, a destination which featured a large amount of plantlife further indicated by animations which included plants among images of food places which played across the screen. He sat and waited for customers, figuring the one who had contacted him wasn't far. He had 5 seats to fill anyways, so he didn't have to worry about reservations yet.

~Danny Franco

OOC: Like the shuttle services at airports, he picks up multiple passengers to bring them to a single destination at once, though unlike airports, at least ones in the US, it's not a complementary service...at least not until he can arrange something like that with some of the business owners - if they're willing to cover all fares. The cart I have him using was one we had at the Banqueting Factility I used to work at. Sadly I do not recall a make or model, but it sat 6 (driver included) which is the most I've ever seen.

Edit: found a picture of one with a seating arrangement like what I had in mind, posted it to Danny's bio here.

OOC - I've made the assumption Daniel has Irina's cortex ID under his received messages listing but it will come up as "unlisted" until she confirms her details. Our characters will meet at some point on the station.
Irina's custom clearance scene could take a long time of roleplaying since she is a fully equipped Recon Specialised with surveillance equipment and a sniper rifle amongst other things. Plus her dog needs to clear quarantine and this station is run by bureaucrats who love paperwork. She could be in customs for some time [real time and game time].

The queue for the customs line moved slowly but steadily. In time Irina was face to face with a athletic build woman with short blonde hair. She wore a name badge that was clearly printed: Oksanna. The woman gave her a practiced smile. "Welcome to Greenleaf Skyplex. Please state your reason for visiting and declaration of any controled items."  The woman held her hand out for Irina's travel documents.

Irina handed over her relevant documents; ID card, her former Alliance Army badge and her registered bounty hunter licence."R & R", Irina lied and paused,"I vish declare these items for profession usage."

Irina put her backpack frame on the counter and started pulling out the following: dismantled sniper rifle in carry case, pistol in concealable holster no ammo, survival kit with knives, field medical kit with drugs/surgical tools, compact bomb disposal kit, extra clips and bullets, taser stun gun, stun baton, integrated battletech system with comm headset and monocular heads up display; recon gear including image enhancement, IR, laser mike, motion sensors,a hover surveillance drone with hand held remote plus full body armour.
"Plus one St Albans Husky dog", Irina held back her automatically trained reflex action to salute.

Re: Docking Ring - Deck 4

OOC: Danny's set his location - it is a major destination so he has no problem heading there, plus he can setup a route to make that one of a few stops. But there's no hurry, he's can wait - I figure she does want transportation and he's waiting for the mysterious customer to reveal themselves.

And yeah I was assuming the whole "unlisted" bit too.

Also I didn't give the exact model as much thought as Danny would have, but I realized 2 rear-facing seats was a bad idea so I switched the image to all front-facing seats.

Danny happily helped an elderly couple onto his golf cart in the very back, collecting their fare in advance. He made some friendly chit-chat with them as they got on. Once they were seated he explained that he would be waiting a couple minutes for more customers before they would be moving. Returning to the front, he started a mental timer as soon as he could sit down again.

Re: Docking Ring - Deck 4

The customs worker named Oksanna looked at the arsenal being withdrawn from the sack. "Are these personal items or are they merchandise for sale?" Each piece of equipment flashed with a green light as they were placed on the counter. The auto scan identified, catalgoued and tied the inventory to the informaiton from Irina's IDent card. Deep in the recesses of the computer core on the station, Irina's official history was brought up and catalouged. The green welcome screen flashed on the monitor. Oksanna smiled at her as the machine did what it was purchased for. "Any explosives or incindiaries?" The weapons waiver came up ont he cortex held by Oksanna. "Please keep in mind due to the nature of the Skyplex, the discharge of any weapon is considered a crime and you could be faced with a misdemeanor fine and confinement."

The dog was a different matter. "Is your dog licenced or at least do you have a list of vaccination or medical history?"

"All standard issue personal items. Never for sale.", Irina stated in her Alliance Army voice. "I villingly commit all veapons and devices to Greenleaf Security for safe storage as gesture of good standing. I no vant troubling. I can take back my gear when I leave station, dah?"
Irina knew the moment she left with her weapons and surveillance gear security would flag and tag her as a possible threat. She needed full access to the station without any security tracking her every moment.
Irina took her form-fitting body armour. Walking around a space station without a firearm was high risk but she wasn't a complete moron. She grabbed her survival travel kit and med pack as she hoped they wouldn't flag as dangerous items.

Irina looked down at Yakov 2nd. All her official documents were for the original Yakov who was part of the Alliance Canine Corps. They were no longer valid as he had died 3 years ago on that day.
Yakov 2nd was a clone of the orginal. Her father had traded some pure breeding dogs from his stock to acquire this superior but sterile duplicate of the dog Irina raised from birth. He had visited her dying daughter on Ariel and made the decision that Irina needed Yakov at her bedside to survive the medical procedure. The biotechnologist on Ariel had enhanced this husky clone with improved physical and mental capabilities incuding improved immune system.
"Yakov 2nd listed on Bounty Hunter licence only as tracking aid", Irina stated,"He made by my father. He husky breeder on St Albans. We have no record of vaccinations or birthing. I pay for vet examination".

Re: Docking Ring - Deck 4

"We would like that. Thank you. We have a qualified medic on Deck 6 that can help. Please have the animal examined today. Your equipment can be held free of charge until your departure." Oksanna printed a claim tag with the inventory listed on it. "They will be held at the Marshal's office on Deck Six as well." Oksanna swiped the Ident Card one last time as the lights around the booth turned green. "Thank you. We hope you enjoy your stay at Greenleaf Skyplex." She handed back the card with a smile. One of the security guards approached with a bin and began placing the weapons inside.

Irina stored away her documents in her secure pocket inside her waist. She felt "uncomfortable" walking the station without her body armour and atleast one knife positioned for immediate defence.
She remembered her mother teaching her how to hold a blade for knife fighting. Irina trembled the 1st time she was given her 1st ritual combat knife when she came of age. The six year Irina couldn't hold the large knife steady in her fragile little hands. Earth mother protect us both for what we need to do

She prepared a text message and sent it to Danny Franco
=I require transport to Deck 6 veterinarian. My location is customs booth area berth 7 Deck 4 docking ring. I am St Albans woman with one husky dog.= sent message from Irina Petrova.

"Ve need two seats", Irina questioned,"Do I pay now? Do you take paper bills or gold coins?"

OOC: Alliance paper bills credits or Border Rim gold coins [from a bounty payout]. Irina is clueless in financial and money matters and she is uncertain of herself in these situations.
