Re: Retail Bazare -Deck 2

Jane considered the store, then checked the time. She had some time to go in and try something on. The sign did state new arrivals, perhaps she could get something from the Core to add to her wardrobe. After all, she had worn nearly half of it at least once already.

She also noted the sign about help wanted. Well, if things went REALLY bad with Mr. Singer I could always get a job here, she thought wistfully.

She hoped the help they did have was at least somewhat competent. If they were the same stock as the fools that had until recently served under her, she'd be turning right back around and out the door.

The Marshal typed back into his cortex, On my way to JPs and sent it as he exited the elevator. The entire deck was a circus. At least security had made its presence felt, as it worked to restore the peace.

He shook his head, never one to like seeing violence this high up the station as he walked towards JPs.

As Kris stepped out on to  Deck Two with her new bag under her arm, she couldn't help noticing that there seemed to be a lot of security about.

Perhaps there was an alert, or perhaps there'd been an incident. Either way, she needed her nails done.

She'd seen a lovely little booth near JP's Beauty and Apparel, and thought she might pop in to the clothing store to try something on while she was there.

Re: Retail Bazare -Deck 2

As she approached the store, she realised she was right. Something had definitely happened, and form the looks of it it had happened in JP's itself.

She hesitated, a few yards from the store front, where inside seemed to be empty of customers and populated instead by others, including the unmistakable red head Ms. Newman Wilson, a sure sign that there'd been trouble.

She pulled her datapad out of her pocket, and pretended to answer a wave while she decided which way to go.

OOC: If that's okay - not sure what she'd see from outside, so feel free to correct me if necessary Kevin...

Re: Retail Bazare -Deck 2

Kris was able to get close to JP's but the immediate area looked like a war zone. Windows were smashed, merchandise littered the cooridor. Security had cordoned off the cooridor that would have got Kris to her nail salon. Ms. Wilson appeared to be speaking with several security guards, including one in a Wallenstien uniform.

A security guard stood close to Kris, waving her out of the area. "I'm sorry ma'am this area is temporarily closed to consumer traffic. Can I help you find an alternative store?"

"Well, that's a good question, isn't it? Can you recommend a good manicurist, I wonder?"

She looked over the security guard's shoulder, surveying the disarray in and around the store, trying to imagine what had happened there. Alex would want a full report, so she took in as much of the detail as possible.

The man shrugged a little. "I used to date a dancer that swore by the services at Tenzing Momo Spa. You might want to try there."

"Oh, for goodness sake!", Kris sighed, frowning at him. "It was a rhetorical question. I wouldn't take your advice on nails, now, would I?"

She turned on her heels and took a few steps away from the guard, looking around for a map of the deck.

OOC: Deb, there's an app for that. wink

The deck maps were easy to spot and quite regular. No customer comfort would be spared here, unlike the lower levels where you could get yourself lost pretty easily.

IC: She found a guide a few paces away, across the other side of the corridor. There were several beauty establishments but Kris was a creature of habit, and she really didn't trust anyone she didn't know with her nails or hair.

She sighed, and made her way back towards JP's, wondering if she could simply slip past security and head along to the little place she knew.

OOC: What do you think Jason? Smack her face up against the wall and frisk her?

IC: Sadly with the arrival of the Leiutenat and the Marshal, the security personnel were highly alert. It looked like that section of the deck was going to be closed. She could see Scarlett talking to the Marshal who seemed to take up the lead on the scene. Scarlett looked about ready to leave.

Scarlett walked out of the Apparel shop and stopped by two people inside the barricade near Kris.

She was giving instructions to each and they were waving papers and a cortex around. She stomped her foot once or twice. She pointed at the man she was talking to that appeared to not like the implication of her tone. The woman there nodded and jotted things on her cortex. At that Scarlett turned and walked towards the Guard station where Kris was standing.

Kris took the opportunity that presented itself, and stepped out into Scarlett's path.

"Ms. Wilson, a pleasure to run into you", she smiled, holding out her hand to shake. Though they weren't on first name terms, they'd run into each other before a few times at business functions, where Scarlett usually appeared more bored than Kris, and much worse at hiding the fact.

"Looks like you're busy, so I won't keep you a moment, but I'm hoping to get through here to a trade meeting just along the way - do you think I could get past this block and complete my business?"

~Kris

OOC: Kevin - If that association with Scarlett as described above is ok with you, that is?

Scarlett had been thinking about something far distant from where she was walking as bumping into Kris seemed to actually startle her. She brushed a long red lock of hair back from her face and looked at Kris.

"Oh, Hello Ms. Van Straten. I trust things are going well down at Phantasm. Say Hello to Alex for me." The dropping of his first name was not meant to impy anything, but he was certainly on a  more casual basis due to the numerous notes he forwarded to

Scarlett regarding ideas for the station. "Let me see what I can do for you." She gave Kris a polite smile, that moments later turned into a frozen mask of ticked off authority.

She turned on her heel and walked over to a security guard nearby. She pulled lifted her ident card from her jeans and flipped it up as she approached. "I am Administator Scarlett Newman Wilson. This woman, Ms. Van Straten, has important business to attend to. You will escort her to her destination and then return. Do it now." She left no room for quesions.

The guard very formally walked over to Kris. "Ma'am. I will escort you to your destination." He gave a parting stare at Scarlett, who was already moving to the escalator.

Before Kris could thank Scarlett she'd strode off, leaving her with an accommodating security guard to escort her.

Probably Alex was sleeping with her anyway, Kris figured, and gave it no more thought.

Before she could take a step towards the nail bar, however, her datapad buzzed in her hand and a cursory glance told her that Ginger needed her back at the bar.

"Ah, timing, darling!", she sighed, in the general direction of the guard. "Never mind".

She turned tail and made her way back to the exit of the deck to return to Phantasm. An auditor was bad news. The accounts would balance, of course - they paid Chow enough to make sure of that. It was the extra-curricular activities, the investments and the unregistered employees they might have to try to approach a little more creatively to get past him.

Danny pulled up to one of the more densely crowded shopping areas. "Here's where you can find just about anything you need - the Bazaar." Danny fished for his business cards and held them out to the other two passengers. "Let me know if you need another lift," he gave a friendly smile.

Ashe alighted smoothly from the cart and smiled at the driver.

"Thank you, Mr-" her eyes flickered to Danny's card for a whisper of a second, "Franco. Best ride on the Skyplex, I'll be sure to tell my friends."

She turned to August.
