So it is... well there goes the last trace of DDC.
Euan, take the link down please.
Gone.
This is what SimEnc says about DDC:

DDC briefly hosted Phoenix, Osprey. See our wiki:

Technically it never hosted Phoenix, as in the club, but it certainly hosted the members
Yes, that's true. Phoenix wasn't officially formed until after we left DDC.
We didn't leave per se - the site went down and we formed Phoenix in the aftermath.
Right. DDC was our temporary home before we found a home of our own. It was very brief.

Right, when I said left, it was as in "didn't come back when DDC came back online". Mostly because at that point we had already become firmly established using Euan's forum setup, as well as other political reasons that don't need rehashing (it's all there in the history).
I have no reservations in saying that I strongly disliked their posting medium; I found it very confusing and so I never managed to post anything during the time we were there. For me, leaving was more than just "we established ourselves elsewhere", it was also "we had a more user-friendly interface" which meant the new site was preferable as well.

I don't remember ever posting there myself, but I have a hard time remembering last week.
I will say there are pros and cons to every system I've ever used. One of my biggest irritants with PunBB is how it marks everything read every time I log in, even if I don't actually open those threads, which causes me to miss posts easily. The temporary forums we went to when the hosting service Euan uses was changed also had things I liked and things I didn't. Anyway, that's getting quite off topic.
It may be true that the move to using PunBB meant a more user friendly interface and was a nice perk, I just don't remember that being a driving factor in the leaving. Not sure if that's what you were implying Robert, but that's what I first thought in reading it. Re-reading it, it seems you are saying the new format was a nice bonus to the leaving, rather than one of the major reasons. But then again, maybe it was a major reason you put forward to Ash/others at the time - I wasn't involved in all the behind the scenes conversations, after all.
