Topic: Pilot Integration - Dr. Faust

Skullette was having a different morning. She received notice to add a very special member to her squad. This wouldn't be so much a recruitment interview as it was a formal welcome. She had never been invited into the R&D wing of the security base before. Hell, her credentials barely let her into the building at all. For as much of a Hell Hole as the penal colony on earth was, this building, constructed in the grandest style of the imperial houses, spoke of more majestic and glorious things than could be hoped for on this burned out rock. This is where the upper level pilots came when they neared their parole requirements. This was the gate way to freedom. a thrill went through her spine just walking the halls.

In time she was escorted to the R&D laboratories. She knew the man the moment she saw him, the illustrious Dr. Faust. He was a legend both great and infamous at the same time. It wasn't everyday someone me a suit developer. Skullette felt a wave of nervousness roll through her that she had not felt in ages. She quietly moved up to the man.

"Dr. Faust? I am Gunnery Sergent Phoebe Moon, Epsilon 23 squad. May I say it's a privilege to meet you sir. I have news for you from security command. Your request to personally test your new suit has been approved. You have been assigned to my squad."

Re: Pilot Integration - Dr. Faust

With a small discontent sigh, Faust answers, "Ms. Skullet, there is no need for formalities. I'm fully aware that you are just another officer assigned to hold my leash. As it were, I am also aware that this will be the quickest way for me to earn my freedom, as if I haven't earned it ten fold with the upgrades I have manufactured; so I will be a good doggy and look after the rest of the pack. Being able to fully test my suit is just an added perk. What would you have of me?"

Skullette was a little set off by his attitude, but assumed it was the eccentricism that came with genius. "Of course sir. It would be an honor to have you gain your freedom with my squad. Your work in suit development is legendary." She wanted to smack herself for babbling like a schoolgirl. He obviously knew the impact of his work. What the hell, why was she getting starstruck?

Re: Pilot Integration - Dr. Faust

He noticed her fawning over him like a cub looking up to the leader of the pride and filed that in the back of his mind for later use. "Yes, I know. I'm assuming you have a team of other less modernized suits piloted by less civilized criminals; shall we go meet them, or is there something else you wish of me?"

Re: Pilot Integration - Dr. Faust

"No Dr. Faust, I merely wished to welcome you to the squad. I am hoping with your presence you might be willing to review our suits for any simple upgrades. Whatever boosts our survival boosts your own. But yes, the team as is expected is made up of convicts and killers. And as you know of me already, you must be familiar with my reputation regarding my team. I am determined that will not be so with this group." She lied. She knew there was nothing she could do to keep any of them alive besides doing the best job she could. Fate had made her a sole survivor, over and over. With each failure she tried to learn and improve, but team mates kept falling.

"We will be gathering the squad shortly if you would accompany me to the briefing room." She wanted to kick herself for the stupid formal airs of respectability. She was Skullette, she danced with death, she danced alone.

"Yes, try to keep this squad alive, shall we? The data on your previous... survivals was invaluable in developing defensive upgrades." He Claps happily, "let's meet our next batch of test subjects... err, I mean, our teammates."
