This isn't the same company as before, is it?
OOC: Actually, the info is sparse, but considering it's targeted at mobile devices first makes me think this is going to be a money grab and not much more. Sigh...
Oops didn't see your post [posted mine in general chat]. I'm interested in seeing where this goes next year. I'm and old-school old timer so I was brought up playing Elite on my C64 as a teen he he I don't ask for much just give me a world that is Firefly [not a generic online space trading game that we have all seen before].

No, I don't think it is. We'll have to see how this one goes, of course.

Actually it is. I had signed up for it back when (I believe it was) Ash pointed us to it before. I went back and found my old login confirmation from this same website so yeah, same people.

Yeah I was having the same thoughts, but they list it as "social" so it would be pretty cool if we could make each of our Firefly ships on there (or stations and planets if they allow that kind of thing though I imagine not) and then we might be able to use it as a cool and fun resource for the site?
That might be hoping for too much from this thing, it could be incredibly linear and thus little use to us...all the same, I am looking forward to seeing what comes of this.

If it's a tablet game, it's not likely to cost very much. Which is one bonus either way.
This is due for release Summer 2014 - and will be on PC and Mac.
More details on the site, but this will be more single-player than MMORPG.
Ack, my eyes! They need to fire their webmaster. Whoever thought brown text over a brown background was a good idea...
Anyway, the screenshots look pretty. I'll remain skeptical until I see some lengthy gameplay video.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating... or the gameplay.
This will be available through Steam; which has remained my gaming platform of choice since Half-Life 2 came out.
Downloaded an ap for it to my phone from the ap store the other day. It's going to tie in somehow with the game when they release it.
I've got the same thing on Steam.
Not sure what I make of it, actually. Loving the music, but I think I'm going to have to wait for the proper game before I appreciate this ap.

True, at least with Free-To-Play, you've not lost any cash.
