Re: OOC Discussion

I'm looking for an XO who will be promoted to CO once the story starts and ideally a pilot.

Re: OOC Discussion

well Angel does have piloting experience but his quiet nature may not be ideal for XO/CO

It's a slight tweaking of the Polish Military history barnstar off Wikipedia. The name is given in both Cyrillic and Latin scripts.

Joseph Quinn would likely be a strong candidate given his police training on top of the standard training in 6th company. He would have demonstrated strong leadership capabilities in squad tactics in scenarios from passive to under-fire. As mentioned in the profile, he used to be involved in drug raids which involves high-threat squad tactics, but there's also the passive aspects of monitoring, securing, and guarding that comes into play in his previous line of work, all of which he took lead on while still in police-work.

His shady background (although entirely justified) might have kept him in the XO position longer than usual to test his trustworthiness. He certainly does a good job and remains professional during all exercises and while on active duty.

Re: OOC Discussion

OK, going to start this earlier than planned. IC post should be up shortly.

Re: OOC Discussion

You can respond to Maczarek, give reasons why you should stay on.

Re: OOC Discussion

I meant to, but I didn't get to respond when I checked it and since it never reappeared as "new" I had forgotten to post. I had some questions I needed to ask before posting though.

Where were we when the incident in question happened? Was the pilot's drinking problem obvious or did we simply have suspicions? If it was obvious did we have reason to believe he might not have been drinking during operations or did we really not know? Was he otherwise (that is other than his drinking problem) responsible and perform his duties as ordered?

I'll be taking these into consideration - if you want to respond with a "you really don't know" that's fine too, I'd just like to know how much we know about his drinking problem before responding.

Re: OOC Discussion

You were all on the ship or the skyplex at the time. He was acting strangely and taking long breaks, as well as eating a lot of sweets. You had an idea, but nothing solid; his work was about average. He didn't really talk much, so you got nothing that way.

Re: OOC Discussion

Awesome, thanks!

Re: OOC Discussion

Not a problem. That's an excellent opening post!

Re: OOC Discussion

Maczarek Security is actually pretty small compared to some of the RL companies that do similar sort of things to them. G4S (a FTSE 100 listed company that specialises in prisoner transport among other things) employs close to 600,000 people.

Ring 5 is a huge company in this sim; it has nearly 500,000 guards. Many people don't like their prices though and go elsewhere.

Re: OOC Discussion

I saw something in Air International yesterday that I'll probably be doing to Kvantcool

Re: OOC Discussion

I'd like to introduce my Moderator voice. I'll be using this for times when I actually have to make Moderator-style interventions. Thanks to the forums at Armchair General for the idea.

As you may no doubt be aware, we've been subjected to a spamming attack. I've cleared the posts off Kvant and another others sims where I have moderator rights. I can't touch the rest; the relevant mods or Euan can.

This will be sorted out and this particular spammer is going to got rid of with prejudice.

Re: OOC Discussion

This is my first monthly sim-level award; I'll be giving some of these out each month in all my sims:

The first "Bringer of Joy to the Workplace" Trophy to Liam Randell Barnaby Sells V, aka "Angel".

Congratulations!

Re: OOC Discussion

Welcome back everyone. More awards will be coming.
