Re: Alliances (Make Recommendations Here)
How about SB118, a Star Trek Play-by-Email Role Playing Community?
The second I clicked on SB118, I got a virus warning... Just warning everyone.

Krista, could you provide us with contact info for someone at SB118 who we can approach about partnering (and also mention the possible virus issue to)?
Ash
Courtesy of Krista, I've seen a press release from the owners of SB118 insisting there's no virus on their site, and I've shared this with Robert, Silent, and Jason for consideration.
Our consensus is we remain concerned, not least because for as long as people get virus warnings when they go to SB118, we might lose prospective members who consdier joining our site but click on a link from here to SB118 and get virus warnings. It might make people wary of our own site.
As such, until they're able to resolve the virus warning situation at least, we sadly feel unable to offer them a banner exchange.
Ash
Can't say I've noticed any virus warnings... What antivirus software were the people who got them using? Cause if the answer is "MacAfee", it's well known for calling any site they haven't explicitly declared clean to be a "potential virus threat".
-Euan
I also didn't get any virus warnings, but I'm also running on a Mac, so that itself could be a difference.
I do share Ash's feeling that it could look bad if we have a link to a site that gives off virus warnings, even if they are unwarranted.
We've agreed a banner exchange with Sixth Fleet and are in the process of getting it set up.

Just wanting to put this one on everyone's radar while I try to make contact with this group: Sons of Skyrim - they're a Skyrim simming group, figure out Elder Scrolls people might be curious about this group - they apparently had some down time and just relaunched mid-late May of this year so it could be we can link up our Elder Scrolls sim with theirs in some ways?

Who's responsible for alliance negotiations nowadays?
Ash
I believe that falls back to the GC at this point, though I'm sure he's looking for someone to pick up the torch.
Also the James Bond site mentioned in post 35 and the Skyrim site I mentioned in post 36 were on my to-do list but I did not find the time to contact them.
~Robert
I'll do Bond, can you do Skyrim Robert?
E-mail sent, just waiting on a reply now.
~Robert
I see the Bond one is up. That's cool.
